A Pair of Bears

My friend Alice made these outfits

After my husband was lost overnight in the woods many years ago, I gave him a greeting card featuring the famous classic teddy bears named Clarence and Ophelia. He in turn gave me a couple of stuffed cuties we named after C and O--but not until he'd searched out the possibility of finding an alternate pair. The boy bear he'd first seen had one leg shorter than the other, and my husband wanted a more perfect pair. Fortunately, he never located alternates. We often commented thereafter on how sad it would have been to separate our bears in the beginning. They were already the perfect pair! That eventually led to my writing a story for young readers, about twin teddies who are fiercely loyal to each other.

reading fun

My granddaughter and I loved reading about Samuel and Sophia. Their determination to stick together no matter what and their happy ending delighted us. Reminds me of people who love their teddies and refuse to be separated from them regardless of age--64 for me :-)

Totally Delightful

I am an almost-80-year-old who is still a kid at heart. I love Judy Dearborn Nill's just released teddy bear booktitle: "Samuel and Sophia: A Tale of Two Teddies."

The best books bring a smile and a tear. This one does. For readers of all ages who appreciate good writing, unique stories, and the chance to settle down with a cup of hot chocolate and spend time simply enjoying a good read.
