Big Teddy Bear

Big Teddy Bear

hi,

My bear was given to me by my mother.
My mother received him for her 21St birthday in the UK. On 4th June 1965, so he is at least fifty years of age.
I am unable to provide any information regarding where this teddy bear was purchased.
He has no tags or labels.
I'm unsure of the materials. He has two button eyes and thread nose and mouth.
The bottom of the mouth is missing.
He also has had his eyes sewn on at some stage.
He has movable arms, legs and head.
He also growls when turned upside down and back again.
He is a big boy. I've tried to demonstrate how big by placing him onto a dining room chair.
I would love to know the origin of this lovely boy and if he would be considered collectible.

Definitely Looks Like a 60's bear to me
by: Kate

Hi
I'm sure I have seen this bear a lot when I was a child in the 1960's. I think big bears were all the rage then.

As to whether he is collectible, well it is hard to say but I think only the rally early bears sell for any real money. He may be worth £10 or £20 pounds though to a general teddy bear collector.
