Odd Teddy Bear

Can anyone tell me anything about this bear?

I bought him about 15 years ago from a antique shop for £30. He has no label and is the most odd looking bear i have ever seen.

He is stuffed very firmly with hard material I am guessing wood wool and is fully jointed. I think the paw pads may have been replaced at some time as they look too new to go with the bear.

Anyway I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they had come across a similar bear and perhaps how old he is and who made him. I'm sure he's not worth much but i would like to know more of his history. He has such a distinctive look with those large ears and small head.
