My Grannies Teddy Bears

Whilst clearing our Grandmother's house out after she passed away, I saved these two sweeties who were awaiting their fate for the bonfire...can you believe that!!

We can only guess they belonged to her and her Sister, who were born one year apart in 1920.

They have great character. Both have growlers which don't work. They are so sweet, I'm sure you agree...

They look fantastic, thank goodness you saved them from the bonfire. Sadly I fear that a lot of old bears have gone that way.

Are there no labels on the bears or even patches where a label may have been? I wonder if they could be early Deans bears, perhaps from the Kuddlemee range. Sometimes it can be difficult to say who made them without labels as often designs could be rather similar.

Yes, the photo where they are sat next to each other, the one on the left has a label underneath its foot which shows it is by Dean's.
