1940's Teddy Bear

I was given this bear around 1978, when we lived in Cologne, Germany. He belonged to a friend of my mum’s whose children had grown up. So I guess he dates from at least the 1940s or 50s. He is jointed, has a growl and is stuffed with wood wool. No sign of a previous tag in his ear or any other label. I’m not sure what his fur is made of, it might be mohair? He’s got a full body of hair. It’s worn on his head from being cuddled and stroked! He’s been repaired over the years as his felt pads had perished.

He's so lovely. I love the teddy bears who look like they have been truly loved and played with. He looks like he belongs to a very loving child.
