Brown Bear with Shirt

This is Todd. He was given to me in about 1980 when I lived in the suburbs of Philadelphia. He is about 15” tall. Eyes and nose are plastic and have nicks in them from the years of wear. The mouth is obviously not original, but a piece of felt. The limbs and head seem plush to me, and is a bit threadbare in places. The hands and feet are a cream color. The shirt seems the most distinctive part of this handsome fellow. Perhaps it is a gingham material, and it has a brown and white small checkered pattern. He has a knobby tail on the backside, which is brown like the legs. My grandmother was fond of shopping at Sears and Gimbels, if that helps. I thank you all for taking a moment to help me learn about this lifelong and dutiful companion.

Does he have a tag that was off the top left leg white with red/blue letters? He was called Toby The Bear. Was on a tag in the ear with Toby The Bear below said made in Korea! Kmart actually is where mine came from in Southbury CT. I think he was a charter out of a child's book from the 80's that never took off. was the time TV took over kids brains and turned to mush lol~ I remember having that book as a kid but is long gone. Another charter the author wrote was called "Scarry Lary The Spider". Plush made in Korea was made of him as well!
