Desperately seeking help...

My son received this as a gift when he was very young, about 1999 or so. He called it his Max bear. I believe it came with a name on the tag that was not Max. I am not even sure it's a bear but possibly a cat or kitten? Somehow it's been misplaced over the years and it's the only toy he asks for from childhood. I'm trying to find one to purchase but have had no luck. I thought it was a Boys bear Catherine Q but when I ordered it, it was not the same. I'm attaching the only photos I can find in hope someone can help me!!
