French bear with amnesia

I'm trying to find out more about this gorgeous, no so little chap. I have no history with him as I have just rescued him from a charity shop in the south of France where they keep many toys outside, even during the rain. He was newly arrived and therefore still indoors. His legs, arms and head all move. I think he has glass eyes, but can't find any tags on him. He looks 50ish, but what do I know? Any help would be greatly appreciated, many thanks from myself and Pierre the bear who is looking forward to remembering who he is.
