Late 1980s UK bear with a foot logo

This is my bff bear who was given to me when I was born in 1989. His butt tag was cut off (understandably), but he has a logo on his foot that I was hoping might help identify where he came from - it looks kind of like an M? Might it be an old Mothercare logo? My internet searches and irl asking has brought me no joy so far, I’m hoping someone somewhere might recognise it! He is of great sentimental value to me and I would love to know his teddy genealogy ^_^
