Merrythought Bear

This is my Merrythought bear. I have had him for as long as I can remember. So would assume I was given him somewhere around 1988. His name is Brown Bear. I was not the most imaginative child apparently. He has been in my loft for most recently, but I'm planning on giving him to my new baby when they arrive in a couple of weeks. But wanted to learn a bit more before about him first if I could.

My bear has a Merrythought tag on his foot. There was also another tag on his side but it's been cut off.

His limbs move and stay in place. He is quite firm, but the stuffing does't make any noise when squeezed. He has plastic eyes I think, maybe glass. His nose and nose are sewn.

I also have a Merrythought Bear with the foot label and movable limbs. Mine has a Button inside each ear, which I think may be a little rarer. Mine was bought for me in 1969. I believe the older they are the more collectable. My advise would be to search around to check rarity, personally I wouldn't give to a child as the better the condition the more collectable they become, I would save it for her for when she is older as a keepsake/investment... just my opinion. Lovely Bear.
