Hi there I'm hoping that there is someone out there who can lend a hand in telling me a little more about my beautiful silk Ferragamo teddy bears . I have two large ones made from Ferragamo silk scarves. They are tagged and have Ferragamo copyright printed in the silk on their foot pad. . I know they were made back in the 80s and are extremely rare only being produced for a very short time from scalf and tie silks. My large two are 30 cm high and I have s half sized bear produced from tie silk as well. I also have a lion which is much more rate. I know they produced an elephant as well but in five years of collecting I have only seen two elephants in pictures and one other lion apart from mine each animal and bear is made from totally different silks so no two are the same These are extremely beautiful plush and soft and are super rare I'm hoping there is someone out there who can tell me more about them and knows how many were produced I've seen five different big ones in pictures and I have two. So there must be more than the other three out there hope you can help me. I've tried asking the Ferragamo museum and they can't help me also I have been asking someone who has worked for Ferragamo and no joy there I know they were part of a collection made in the Ferragamo factory from rare silks and off cuts so I'm guessing that's why there arnt so many. Well the collection grows with the addition of two more lions and another elephant a d two more big scarf bears bring the total up to 4 elephants 3 lions what a herd all so beautiful and each one diffetent and above all very rare indeed ill post some more pics soon

just to let everyone know the ones you see on ebay have hugely inflated prices , if they were put up for auction they wouldnt make more than 100 dollars, so sellers put silly prices on them hoping for a muggens out there wanting one , the last one i bought of ebay i won for only 50 dollars and i was the only bidder , but they are rather nice and do look great. let me know or post a pic of your ferragamo animal its nice to see the colours out there , thanks again brett. from london

Well it seems you can now buy them at ferragamo a red and a blue one has just been produced and sell for around 300 pounds on their website they are fairly plain but go there if you want any . I’m still looking for a lion if anybody has one or seen one let me know my email is on my first blog post. Happy collecting everybody kind regards Brett

well my ferragamo collection is growing
i now have , one lion although a lovely young girl with cancer is looking after him , 4 large silk bears, ! large bear which doubles as a back pack with two pockets, i also have 3 small bears made of tie silk, and im the proud owner of three lovely ferragamo silk elephants all lovely and gorgious. just a note there are no real value on the bears , the ones on ebay have been on there in some cases two years at hugly inflated prices. They do not sell and as they are not put up for auction they just stay on the site. Any that do come up for auction the most ive seen one large one go for is about 100 us dollars, but and average is 25 us dollars for a small one and the elephants the last sold for about 100 us dollars. if any one knows where i can get another lion let me know, i know they are out there and as they never come up for auction as people tend to pass them on to their children they stay in the family. but i would love to add a lion to my collection. ive had one and they are lush.

I have found your info and question while researching.

I found my teddy bear just recently at a second hand store.

I can say they are no longer bring manufactured and appear to be rare and no often found.

Values appear to be upper 200 to lower the 500 usd.

The quality is superb!

I have one which I purchasedon't at Saks Office Fifth outlet years ago..it was marked down many times so I bought it...has tiger on it with mallard ducks , aqua and pale pink colors...I talked to Ferragamo in nyc and they said they were made for Christmas gifts and don't know it they will make them again
