Sheepskin bear

I was given Teddy Wardman by a neighbour in about 1955. He was not new then. He has no labels. He seems to be made of sheepskin with suede paws. I knitted him a romper suit when I was about 10. He's quite scruffy and worn with one eye missing. I remember being sick on him several times and he was well washed. His left leg is loose. I am torn between restoring him or just cleaning him. Any opnions gratefully received. I live 8n Spain and would be a little nervous bout posting him at the moment. I visit the UK a couple of times a year in normal times, so would hand deliver him for repear.
