This bear belonged to a friend who received it as a gift sometime between 1945-1950. She was told the bear was purchased overseas. The bear is approx. 25"-26" tall and is fully articulated. The arms are approx. 10" long and have upturned paws covered with a worn brown material and 4 black stitched claws. The legs are approx. 9" long, a little bow-legged, worn brown material foot pads and 5 black stitched claws. The claw stitches also show age. The body is a honey colored mohair that is stitched up the back. The bears head is triangular with soft rounded ears, black glass button eyes and a black vertically stitched nose and a small mouth. The head leans slightly but it is firmly attached. This old teddy comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home and he could use a professional grooming. Overall this bear is in wonderful vintage condition! This Teddy needs a new loving home!

Chiltern Bear, Chesham, UK

Hi Madonna,

I believe your bear is an English Chiltern Hugmee Bear.

How are you selling this bear as I may want to purchase him?

Lisa.

Could this be a "Dean" teddy bear??
by: Madonna

After looking at literally hundreds of Teddys, I think I may have a "Dean" bear. The triangular head is what makes my bear similar to photos of "Dean" bears. Can anyone recommend anywhere or anything that I could use to make a positive identification? I'd like to sell my bear, so identifying it is very important.
